Yesterday evening, I spoke to a crowd of digital media professionals about the Pixel to Product research study, my plans for the next year, and what I’m going to deliver in 2011.

Post-speech, I had the opportunity to meet a number of industry folks working on some really interesting Open Data projects. If we, as a community, can self-organize and attract industry partners to help create and promote data liberation initiatives, then why shouldn’t we? Initiatives such as DataTO and the City of Edmonton Open Data Catalogue are valuable tools in providing strong value propositions for encouraging other cities to participate.
